N’awleans Style
Sir Andrew is back from one of my favorite cities in America...New Orleans!! We had an unbelievable conference with the best special events professionals in the world. In fact, 27 countries were represented!!
My week started with the International Special Events Society’s Leadership Conference.lt was great getting all of us on the Board of Directors and the Board of Governors together to discuss the past year and plan ways to improve both our home cities and the industry as a whole. We shared incredible ideas and we’re all extremely excited about the new year.
We then headed into 4 days of educational seminars. Andy Kushner led an interesting one discussing ways that entertainment can help planners exceed wedding clients’ expectations. Andy’s seminar was rated extremely high by those in attendance. Andy Kushner Entertainment is looking forward to bringing these ideas to other organizations across the country.
I serve on the fund raising and pr committees for the SEARCH Foundation. We held a great fundraiser at Bourbon Vieux on Bourbon Street...WHAT A GREAT TIME!! In attendance were celebrities like Steve Kemble, Sean DeFreitas, Sasha Souza. Add to the luminous crowd a great DJ, an opportunity to create your own cologne/perfume, and an outrageous silent auction lineup and you get a fundraiser that can bring in $25,000 in one night for an amazing cause. Sasha did a great job putting it all together and the hard work of Immediate Past Chairman Larry Green and current Chairman Michael Cerbelli were outstanding.
